Experience III, Lesson 10: Irregular Imperatives

4 Irregular Imperative Verbs

A simplification was made early on in Latin of dropping the "-e" of 4 common imperatives, so that you will find the original form (as learned in Lesson I-21) only in the very earliest Latin manuscripts. Note that all 4 are block III verbs.

VerbImperativeIrregularPlural
dico, dicere - saydicedicdicite
duco, ducere - leadduceducducite
facio, facere - make/dofacefacfacite
fero, ferre - carryfereferferte

The B form (future) imperatives are all regular.
Note that ferte, the plural imperative is also irregular.
